Anonymous asked: What influences you to write these awesome blogs?
lol thank you! hmm… the people places and things around me influence me i guess
my first year in college really taught me a lot - things that i already knew, things i never knew, and things i never realized i have known all along. everyday i walked the same campus as thousands of other temple students. the thing that still amazes me to this day is how we are all from different hometowns, families, cities, backgrounds, and pasts. thousands of different journeys, yet we all somehow ended up walking the same paths and reaching a point where our lives coincide. college really shapes you into the person you are, or helps you realize what kind of person you want to be. i love college because i finally got out of the bubble i’ve been in for the past 19 years, and entered a new world with new people. college gave me a fresh perspective on everything. there was something about the things i would see and experience on the way to class. there’s just this positive energy roaming around, and it struck me through the littlest things. i would pass a sea of unfamiliar faces and through eye contact, exchanged smiles, or even a glance, it made all the difference in the world. i don’t even know how to explain it, just the fact that i’m surrounded by thousands of faces who don’t know me is so comforting. i love college because i just felt so accepted by everything, and that’s one of the biggest things i learned: acceptance. i learned that we are all merely human beings just trying to find our way in this crazy world. no one knows what the hell they’re really doing, but we just have to dive in and try because that’s all that we can do. i also learned that i need to get rid of negativity in my life, and surround myself with people who make me feel accepted. we all need to stop judging people or stop being so afraid of judgment. at the end of the day, i think it’s funny to think we’re all more alike than we know.
